Today’s Tea – Masala Indian

Today's Tea - Masala IndianMasala Indian

Today’s tea from Teabox is Masala Indian.  Given the fact that the Autumn is already underway, this is one of my favorite teas for the season.  This particular tea features spices such as cinnamon, black pepper, nutmeg, and clove. These are blended with basil and black tea to produce a most wonderful blend of tea. The taste of this tea is well suited to the fall, and would benefit from being paired with seasonal pastries such as pumpkin bread.  Other pairings that can often be served with this tea would include soft cheeses or can complement a meal of steamed vegetables.  Also, at Teabox.com this particular tea is also certified as organic and carries the USDA organic seal.

Preparation

This particular tea benefits from water that is below boiling. Steeping only once and using water that is around 194F helps to keep the tea’s flavors prominent. Also when steeping, steep only for 4 minutes and using 1.25tsp/2.3oz of leaves per 6fl oz of water. This particular tea, I love drinking by itself. However, lemon, sugar, or honey can all be added to the tea. Indian Masala is definitely best consumed while hot and is considered a morning tea. But, just as with pumpkin spice coffee, you might find you enjoy this particular tea at any time.

Conclusion

For those who truly love the Fall season and teas, this is quite the tea for the season.  Masala Indian is one of the staples that I keep in my pantry due to how much I love it.  Have you tried Masala Indian before?  If so, what did you think of it?  Are there any teas that you would like me to try?  I’d really like to hear from you, so be sure to leave a comment!
